Tuan Tuan (M) and Yuan Yuan (F), two Giant Pandas are the goodwill gesture between Mainland and Taiwan. Scienctific name of the Panda is Ailuropoda melanoleuca and belongs to Mammal Order Carnivora Family Ursidae Genus Ailuropoda. The new panda house (Shin Kong Special Exhibition Hall) at the Taipei Zoo will be officially opened to the public on the first day of the Chinese New Year on Jan. 26, 2009. During the Lunar New Year holiday (January 26 – February 1), Taipei zoo opening hours will be adjusted to 8:30 a.m. – 5:30 p.m.; zoo schedule will return to normal (9 a.m. – 5 p.m.)starting February 2. However, Taipei Zoo announced that it will be limiting the number of visitors at the special exhibition hall to 22,000 people daily (Wow !!!)
