ITRI, Hsinchu visit creates good scientific exposures, scientific & Technological developments and opportunities in Taiwan. Even thought we are 28 people 26+2 small group we received cordial hospitality from 5875 ITRI’s (includes 30 foreigners) visible brains.
Knowledge Based Industries is the motto of the ITRIans. Taiwan has 13 science parks (including Hsinchu Biotech Park). ITRI plays main role to link between industries and research centers and/or universities. Amazing thing about ITRI, it possess 17.3% doctoral scientific powers. Until 31th December 2007 it’s holds 8657 Patents (local and International). 6 core labs, 5 focus centers and 5 linkages centers are the back-bone of it. Taiwan government and private sectors supports ITRI’s growth.
We started our visit from ITRI’s showroom. It exemplified the developments of ITRI through water robot, 3D mouse, remote medical kit and so on. There after Mr. Dan King from HR department delivered short presentation about the Internship and/or work possibilities in ITRI. After finish his presentation we moved to flexible electronics laboratory. That’s was amazing, but my knowledge is not up to that level to understand. Anyhow I got booklets about that lab and same time we saw very good flower garden view from that place. We moved our feet to ITRI College. There we had our lunch. (Thanks to Cindy and Maggie). I went Building No.52 to meet Mr.Sachin (basically he is from India, but born and brought up in US. I knew him through Dr. Thirumalaisamy) and Dr. Yunghow Wu. At 1.30 pm we had very good presentation from ITRI college president (46 year old local boy too). He guided us to see the incubation lab. That’s the real gift for those researchers and inventors living in Taiwan. It’s provides excellent support to them (even for foreigners). Finally ITRI president accompany with us until our memorable departure from Hsinchu. ITRI visit, directly as well as indirectly taught me the real face of the world.
